Government should be the servant and not the master of the people. TCFR fights for the family and its God-given, Constitutional rights as the foundation of society.
TCFR understands that barring true abuse or neglect, families have the right to live their lives free of outside interference.
Liberty, the State and Parental Rights:  2006

Parental rights continue to be under siege as the legislature and courts yield more power to the state.  The philosophy of education a generation ago is reaping the philosophy of government of this generation as Abraham Lincoln warned over a century ago.

In a year with the prospect of landmark CPS reform in the legislature, Texas saw more money and more power given to the agency with little, if any more accountability required.

Nationwide, Courts hit parents with triple whammy.  As one circuit court held, parental rights do "not extend beyond the threshold of the [public] school door."
MEDIA TURNS TO TCFR
Nationally and statewide the media increasingly turns to TCFR as an advocate for families and parental rights including:
CNN Sunday Night  -        USA Today        -   New York Times    -  Foxnews.com
CBS.com            MSNBC.com        -          Boston Herald        -        Seattle Times

Houston Chronicle        Dallas Morning News     San Antonio Express-News
Austin American-Statesman      Corpus Christ Caller-Times

KTRH - Houston            KTSA- San Antonio        -        KAHL- San Antonio     KRIS - Corpus Christi
The Texas Center for Family Rights website is to be used for educational purposes only.
It should not be interpreted as specific legal advice.
At times TCFR is able to make recommendations regarding attorneys in Texas who are able and willing to advocate on behalf of parental rights. TCFR recommends that you consult one of them or another attorney as you plan your legal course of action.
Texas Center for Family Rights is a non-profit corporation offering chaitable and educational services. TCFR has applied for 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service.

"A Child Welfare Timeline"
An overview of child welfare in the United States from 1961 through 2006

"Unreasonable Assault on Reasonable Efforts"
Federal law mandates that states make "reasonable efforts" to keep families together and/or reunify them while investigated by CPS. Read Executive Director of NCCPR Ricahrd Wexler's assessment of those efforts.

*TCFR does not endorse or agree with everything promoted and published by NCCPR but is indebted to NCCPR for excellent work in many areas of research and action in child welfare reform.
