The Family: A Time Now to Pray for its Preservation

Friends of Texas Center for Family Rights:

I would encourage you to sanctify time this weekend to pray for the state of our nation with regard to the family. We at Texas Center for Family Rights promote God-given and constitutional rights of the Texas family as a part of nation once built upon a strong Judeo-Christian foundation.

Undeniably these rights are under assault. Forces are endeavoring to undermine the very fabric of our nation in the name of progress. However, there are elements of a culture that have deeper roots than any one culture. Traditional marriage is one such element.

Ken Connor, President of the Family Research Council recently passed on the following observations:

Marriage is an institution which no court has the authority to redefine. Its existence transcends cultures and         precedes the laws and Constitution of the United States. Its definition has been recognized throughout         history…Marriage is the foundation of civilization and of the family. Weaken marriage, and families and         societies become imperiled. You simply cannot build a strong society on the back of weak families.

Our nation was established based upon unalienable rights endowed by a Creator. It is the government’s mandate to protect those unalienable rights, not dismantle them. When a nation or state intentionally dismantles them there are consequences to be paid.

Next week we will look at some of the fundamental rights associated with families through the 4th and 14th Amendments and the attacks that have come upon them

This weekend we encourage you to take a moment to pray for your family, families in general, and the sanctity of the family as it is supposed to be protected by our legal system.

Respectfully,

Peter Johnston
President
